Welcome my friend to the next stitch of the Tunisian Crochet Stitch Tutorial Series!!! We will be continuing the series with the Knit Stitch. Most if not all of these will be featuring the wonderful Toni of TLYarn Crafts as she has inspired me to learn Tunisian Crochet through her stunning and beautiful Tunisian Crochet Holiday Sampler Blanket CAL last year and I love her tutorials. :). I can’t wait to see what you create with your new skills and without further ado, lets get started with the Tunisian Crochet Knit Stitch. :)

How to Tunisian Crochet Knit Stitch Tutorial

This is a fun stitch to do and great to start with, it is thick and warm but also light depending upon the yarn you use to create with :). And learning from Toni is one of the best ways to learn :)

For all those who are left handed, here is the left handed tutorial version for the Tunisian Crochet Knit Stitch from the Knitiversity.

Tunisian Crochet is slowly growing in the amount of patterns and designers with some of the most amazing designers often those that also design crochet (like Toni and BHooked and many more, a list is soon to come :)) and even knitting pieces as well. Several of these designers below may be very familiar and others you may not know actually create Tunisian crochet as well as crochet patterns!! CiderHouseCrochet has a stunning Haydon Cowl that can create a wonderful colored cowl you can wear that will dress up any outfit.

ICanCrochetThatShop has a Knit Stitch Blanket in their Etsy Shop that would be perfect with color changing yarn or any color combination.

SmileyGoose has a fun Marisol Triangle Scarf using the Tunisian Knit Stitch to create an awesome asymmetrical Triangle Scarf.

YarnHookNeedles has a wonderful pattern for a Tunisian Crochet Coffee Cardigan that is great way to practice the knit stitch and create a warm and comfortable piece for you or as a gift. Awesome news! Toni of TLYarnCrafts (she created the tutorial for the honeycomb stitch above) has a new book out now all about Tunisian Crochet!!! The Arthritis Foundation has an article with specific tips for knitting, crocheting, and cross stitching with arthritic hands. They have specific tips for each craft on things you can do to help make manage your arthritis while still allowing you to enjoy the craft you love.

Every Day Health has an article all about how to knit/crochet with Arthritis with 10 tips for how to keep crocheting/knitting. They even encourage you to crochet and craft with Arthritis because it can actually help you with managing it.

All Free Crochet has a full Crochet and Arthritis Tip Guide for those that have arthritis or issues with their hands complete with information about how to help your hands each time you crochet or craft and tips on how to adjust for your craft based on whether you have a good day or a bad day.

YouTube has several videos where people have discussed tips that have helped them with crocheting or knitting with Arthritis or other health issues that cause your hands and body to be stiff.

Jen B discusses how she crochets in this 3 minute video and shows you how to best hold the yarn and more.

LullasJewelry also has awesome crochet rings in her Etsy Shop that are adjustable and help hold the yarn for pain and relief while crocheting/knitting/Tunisian crocheting with Arthritis.

YourgiftArt has a peacock knitting/crochet loop ring in her Etsy Shop.

DawnGillDesigns has a number of crochet rings she calls hooker rings in her Etsy Shop and each has a different design you can choose from to include paw, snowflake, flower, star, dot and heart.

Motion Works Blog has an article on tips for crocheting and using your hands despite having arthritis and also gives several stretches that you can do to help your hands while crocheting or crafting.

Laughing Hens has an article specifically about stretches (complete with pictures!) that are great for both crocheters and knitters. I think I’ll start doing these too to help my hands when I’m working on a variety of projects!
