Jewelry Making with Lullas Jewelry

What gave you the idea/inspiration to start Lullas Jewelry?

As a child, I loved stones of various colors and I brought them home from summer vacations.

Later, I bought jewelry made of semi-precious stones and at one point I wanted to start making jewelry myself.

How did you get started in making jewelry?

At first, I made only for myself, and later my best friend persuaded me to try to sell what I made.

When my husband got sick, I had to turn my hobby into a business. Since I live in a tourist town, I had a stall in the center of the city for a few years.

How do you choose the materials you work with?

I like working with semi-precious stones and copper the most.

How do you choose the jewelry designs you create – ie is there something that you take inspiration from when you start a piece?

As for the design, I don't like to close the stone. When I take the stone and the wire in my hands, somehow everything just goes.

What is your favorite style of design (ring, earring, necklace, etc.) and stone/glass to work with?

I like to work with semi-precious stone pendants the most, but there is a lot of competition and unfortunately, I make them less and less and more and more copper rings and rings for knitting and crocheting.

What would you tell a new designer for encouragement?

I would tell the new designer to never give up on his ideas and dreams.

What is something you are passionate about and why?

I don't know why I'm passionate, I was probably born that way.

I am very curious and I am constantly learning something new.

How has COVID changed or impacted your vision/strategy?

Copper and Green Stone Tree Bracelet.jpg

Covid has completely changed the lives of all of us. It affects both work and the psyche. Unfortunately, the pandemic is still going on. I calmed down when I learned that taking higher doses of vitamin D regularly helps the disease to be tolerated more easily. Hopefully, the virus will be defeated in the vaccine.

I have to constantly change business strategies because Etsy often changes the search algorithm.

If you had one (or several) things to share with a woman entrepreneur, what would it be? What would you encourage them about?

I think I'm still learning, so I couldn't say what lesson I learned. You should never give up.

If you had one (or several) things to share with a woman entrepreneur who is a mother, what would it be? What would you encourage them about?

As a mother, I can say that a woman, in addition to taking care of her children and work, should have a hobby, something with which she will quality fulfill the time when the children grow up.

Fun question – if you could meet one person in history or present, who would it be and why?

I appreciate many writers, composers, scientists ... but I couldn't say that I'm someone's fan and that I would like to know him.

What is your dream for Lullas Jewelry to be (where do you see Lullas Jewelry in 5+ years)?

I used to have some dreams and fantasies about my jewelry. Honestly, I don't have it anymore. I wish I could earn enough from making jewelry, crocheting ... that I don't have to have another job.
